The Hooksett Head School is an extremely valuable part of the Hooksett community. Many students have visited this one-room school house over the years on class trips as 3rd or 4th graders. The field trip has always been a highlight of the year for students, teachers and chaperones. Sadly, this journey back in time to an 1840's living classroom experience may come to an end. The Head School is in desperate need of new School Marms!
With new School Marms it would be possible to open the school more often as a Living Museum. We could plan summer activities for students.
Some of these activities could include:
• An Old Fashion Picnic on the school grounds
• Trying out a May Pole
• Playing with toys that would've been used in the 1800's
• Needlepoint and Hook Rugs
• Book Readings and Recitations
• An Art Gallery to display art projects
• A Scavenger Hunt in Head Cemetery to find famous Hooksett Citizens
These are just a few of the the ideas we would like to plan- if we had some Help!
