LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER

Supporting small business is key to success for all

Posted

Dear Hooksett, Allenstown, and Pembroke readers,

We’re thrilled to bring you the Holiday Edition of The Hooksett Bridge – a time for celebration, community, and connection! This season, we’ll be spotlighting the magical Lighting of Hooksett Village, capturing the beauty and warmth of our community events in Suncook Village. Don’t miss our in-depth feature on the remarkable Dr. Maria Alicia Davila of Hooksett and her historically significant Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired home.

As part of our commitment to supporting the Tri-Town area, we’re highlighting local businesses for Small Business Season. Shopping small not only brings unique finds and experiences but also sustains the businesses that keep our community vibrant. Supporting these local shops and our community advertisers is essential for the future of The Hooksett Bridge, as their contributions enable us to continue this work. Without their support, we simply wouldn’t have the means to keep this publication going. We now have content that also covers local sports, thanks to community submissions! We thrive when the community submits news and photos! We want your news and your photos! Please consider submitting what you know that is going on in town - we will publish it!

Help us keep The Hooksett Bridge going

As the owner, I want to share a challenge we face: mailing and printing costs are high, and while we’re committed to providing our community with a print newspaper, we need to make adjustments to continue sustainably. Starting next year, we’ll be asking readers to subscribe if you wish to continue receiving the print edition at home. The cost will be $14/year for four issues. Alternatively, if you prefer to switch to the email version, please let us know by emailing publisher@thehooksettbridge.org. Your support means a lot, and we hope you’ll continue to enjoy and cherish The Hooksett Bridge, however you choose to read it.

Opportunities to join our team

We’re expanding our team and would love to hear from local community members interested in helping our paper grow! The Hooksett Bridge is looking for:

• A part-time bookkeeper

• News reporters for school board and planning board meetings, local business highlights, and human interest stories

• A dedicated writer for our HomeTown Hero section

If you’re passionate about local news and community storytelling, please reach out!

Become a sponsor

We’re also looking for additional sponsors and advertisers who are committed to sustaining our local paper. Sponsoring a page or placing an ad in The Hooksett Bridge is an impactful way to show your support for the Tri-Town area. We would love to discuss options for sponsorship that could help defray our production costs.

Thank you for your continued support and for being part of this journey with us. We look forward to celebrating this holiday season with you, sharing stories, and staying connected as a community. If you’d like to help support us financially, you can send checks payable to The Hooksett Bridge Community News at 120 Main St., Suncook, NH 03275, or contribute via Venmo at @thehooksettbridge.
